While on a cross-country road trip with my good friend CT the summer of 2023 I met Marilyn for the first time at Shell Creek Campground deep in the hills of Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains.
Marilyn was on her annual 4-month traveling trip for fly-fishing and exploring. Pulling her fishing boat behind her Ram Promaster, similar to my van was intriguing. She liked the way I dress: usually in a skirt, like her. We found much more in common including sailing, vanning, laughter and ease. We exchanged numbers and kept in occasional contact. Mid-winter Marilyn delicately inquired about joining me on my 2024 summer road-trip to Atlantic Canada. After a few inquiries about traveling styles, expectations, etc. we decided to give it a try.
We agreed to meet in early May 2024 to begin our caravanning expedition, she in her rig – without her boat, me in Lulu. I’d been roaming Arizona and New Mexico the months of March and April. She scooted up from her home-town of Portal, AZ where we in Taos on May 2nd, 2024.
