From Taos, NM to Quebec City, Quebec we’ve driven about 2500 miles. Crossing the border at Sault Ste Marie (The Soo), Ontario we’ve spent days with friends and days of driving east towards the Maritime Provinces. The Trans-Canada Highway scenery has been lush with gorgeous lakes and rivers – where I’m sure moose are munching on greenery just out of sight – farmland and fairly flat, well-kept roads. My time and the miles are passed with my own thoughts and enjoyment of watching lives lived and nature flourishing while interspersed with listening to a book: Lure of the Labrador Wild.
This evening, May 27, we’ll be camping across the St. Lawrence River from the historical Quebec City, which is not a Maritime province, but we’re so close! And this is our first stop in Canada to spend time exploring an urban area. It’s a beautiful blue-sky day and exciting to anticipate tomorrow.
After 2 full days exploring Quebec City in full tourist mode we’ll then spend two travel days before arriving at Fundy National Park = huge tidal exchanges.
Reservations on Prince Edward Island and then in south Nova Scotia on Graves Island will bring us thru June 12th. However, we’ll remain in Nova Scotia, then on Breton Island before hopping a ferry sometime in late June to spend 3 weeks in Newfoundland.
I love hearing your route and thoughts! You’re in a part of the world Ive never explored. I’m very curious and a tad envious! Travel safe. Lots of love!
