Night Watch, August 17

We’ve traveled about 300 nautical miles since leaving Port Townsend. I’m beginning my third night shift. 2200- 0200. Other than sleep interrupted, I like it. It’ll be even better when we’re not using the motor and the sails are up.
Rod set up all watches with two crew members. One at the helm, and one assisting, so no one is alone. The assist might be sleeping, but nearby and always available to nudge awake.

1am. Fog. Mist.
Phosphorescence, sparkly wake
Moonlight. Calm seas. Shhhhhh
